Trek & Climb in Cordillera Blanca

The Cordillera Huayhuash is a mountain range of almost otherworldly magnificence. For shear glacial beauty and rugged grandeur there is perhaps no other trek in the world’s tropical zone that can match these towering peaks. In addition to the famed peak of Siula Grande (6344m), the site of Simpson’s adventure, you will also find the vast icy bulk of Yerapaja (6634m), Peru’s second highest peak. The trekking in this region is demanding, with numerous passes over 4500m in altitude, but the reward for any lover of wild mountain vistas, deep blue glacial lakes and rushing ice-fed streams more than compensates.
