Northern Peru

Northern Peru’s natural attractions are stunning in their own right, but the regions Archaeological heritage, historic monuments to vast and powerful empires that advanced and receded across this epic landscape are equally impressive and certainly the equal of the ruins of the Inca civilization further to the south. On this journey we visit the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site of Chavin de Huantar, dating from around 800 BC. Chavin is labyrinth of temple tunnels and carved figures from an civilization of which precious little remains.
