Arequipa

The city of Arequipa is the second largest city in Peru and known as ”the White City”. This is cause of its beautiful white walls made of sillar. Sillar is a volcanic stone which comes from Mount Chachani and Mount Misti.

The city center is made up of a mixture of Baroque churches and mansions from the Colonial Period. This has earned Arequipa a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. Along with that Arequipa has an excellent cuisine which makes it perfect for a visit.
