Kuelap Fortress

Inside the complex there are multiple levels or platforms. Because of its extension, these flat elevations support more than 400 constructions, among them Temples, warehouses and resident houses most in cylindrical form.

The fortress was forgotten by the modern world until in 1843 when Juan Crisóstomo Nieto started to examine the place. Quickly it became an object for explorers, historians and archaeologists. Since then thousands of people have been enchanted by its mystical history and beautiful surroundings.
