(05/15/2010)Lan Peru is interested in serving commercial flights in the Lima – Jauja route, reports the Ministry of Trade and Tourism.
Jauja is very near from Huancayo city, which has lots of businesses and is also is a very demanded tourism destination in Junin region; however, the only access available at present is by bus.
Huancayo's Mayor, Freddy Arana, said that he will ask the Ministry to improve Jauja's Airport terminal, reports TNews.
“We will try to have commercial flights soon, since it will boost Huancayo's tourism,” he said.
This would be the first time in history that Huancayo receives commercial flights, since currenly only small planes from LC Busre company are arriving.
Mayor Arana said also that Huancayo wants to host the next Annual Entrepreneurs Conference, thus it needs to be prepared regarding hotel infrastructure, restaurants and commercial flights.
