(09/06/2010)Peru's Ministry of Transportation and Communications announced that in a very short time travelers will no longer wait in line to pay the exit tax at Lima's International airport Jorge Chavez, reports Peru.com.

The airport usage tax will be added to the ticket price, said transportation minister Enrique Cornejo. “We will disclose the exact date from which these queues will no longer be necessary during the next few weeks,” h said.
Cornejo said the change is the result of close and coordinated work between airlines, Lima Airport Partners, who operates Jorge Chavez Airport, and the national tax agency, Sunat.
The implementation of this change falls under the responsibility of the airlines, LAP and IATA, the International Air Transport Association.
This change will be extended to other airports in Peru's provinces; airlines and airport administrations are currently coordinating the process.
