(09/16/2010)"Peru is an example to follow by other nations in Latin America,” said Giovanni Bisignani, International Air Transport Association (IATA) Director General and CEO, after meeting with Peru's President Alan Garcia.

Bisignani described Peru as an example in improving air transport services and creating job opportunities, highlighting the fact that air transportation in Peru generates nearly 77,000 jobs across the country, with an investment of US$ 2.2 billion.
He also had favorable comments on the work done by the current government in building new airports and landing areas, and in the growth of civil aviation in Peru, which grew by almost 10% percent this year.
"It is something we do not see very often," he added, quoted by Andina news agency.
