(09/18/2010)Commercial aviation market in Peru is expected to grow more than 14% once the Jorge Chávez International Airport reaches Category III, which is scheduled for April 2011.

“We have been growing between 10% and 14% in terms of number of passengers, which is way over the average in the rest of the world, that oscilates around 5%,2 said the Transportation Minister, Enrique Cornejo.
This change will allow Lima airport to have the necessary conditions to serve flight arrivals even under zero visibility conditions.
“The investment required for this totals some US $4.45 million,” said Minister Cornejo, who also commented that the most benefited ones will be travelers and airlines.
