Machu Picchu Celebrates 100 Years of Visitors

(01/07/2011)100 years ago, on July 24, 1911, Melquiades Richarte and Anacleto Alvarez, who were living in the citadel of Machu Picchu, welcomed two visitors to their home: Melchor Arteaga and Hiram Bingham*
Since then, millions of people have visited this awe inspiring places, amazed by its mystical energy and peerless architectural beauty.

The Sacred City of the Incas, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, will celebrate, during the 2011, a century of being revealed to the world.
*Hiram Bingham is a famous American explorer and academic. He is the basis for Indiana Jones.
