Machete Tours Is a Peruvian-Danish travel agency. Ronald Rengifo Pezo is Peruvian and Tine Ansbjerg is Danish. Together they started the year 2000 the travel agency with initial tours only to Manu National Park; at present days Machete Tours has offices in Cusco, Lima and Copenhagen and its tours operations are throughout Peru and since 2008 started operation in Bolivia, Chile and continue opening new destinations around the globe.
The Directors of Machete Tours has founded this agency with a clear objective which is to teach and aware people from all around the world the importance of eco-tourism and the preservation of life as well as knowledge about the people who live in this part of the world. Before the foundation of Machete Tours, Ronald has been working as nature tour guide in several areas of South America and Tine has travelled twice around the globe and several times around the South America continent.
Machete Tours field staff: Our tour guides are all Peruvians, bilingual (English – Spanish) and licensed to guide all the tour routes we operate. Each of our tour guides and field staffs have a high sense of environmental care and are very aware of nature equilibrium. In all our tour destinations we have local guides working as tour assistants, professional certificate local cooks and very experienced transporting drivers.
Each of our tours are described in our web page as well as its prices and what is include and what is not include. Depending on the tour we have a maximum of passengers per guide, example, to the classic Inca trail to Machupicchu we have 8 passengers per guide and to Jungle Tours we have a maximum of 7 passengers per guide.
In all our tours we bring all what we will use and we take it back with us after the tour, ensuring that all what we have leafs behind us is our footprints.
Our meals are based in organic and ecological products. In each tour destination we buy local production as for example seasonal fruits and farming products in the jungle, potatoes, corn and seasonal fruits in the highland, etc.
Our tours are open and welcome to all nationalities including Peruvian and local tourist.
During our adventure tours we use local accommodations or family camping areas and we are partnered in all our destinations with Hotels with a high nature sensitive standard.
All our staff is trained in first aid and in all our tours we are able to reach outside communication and we are trained in all types of evacuation and assistant.
Our tours give direct economical benefits to our field staff as well as Machete Tours has a libraries Social Project started the year 2007 call “Hans Christian Andersen” implementing and giving books to primary schools in far destinations in Peru.
Ecotourism, equal benefits.
We know that tourism should be handled with social responsibly and distribute the benefits equally to all of us involved as much as in offices staff and in all field´s staff, in this way we ensure that all of us working in Machete Tours Have decent benefits.
Unfortunately still many travel agencies that use exploitation, bad payment to the staff and in seek of personal benefit; this is reflected in the poor services to their passengers and their staff, the extra hiding prices in the tours, the obligation of give tips to the field working staff(as this become part of the salary)and the low wages to porters and mule drivers; This can also be seen in the prices of their tours that only reach to benefit very good to few and leaving majority outside the sublime benefit of tourism.

Bachelor of Tourism and Hostelling of the San Martin de Porres University, attending various courses and seminars to strengthen and increase her knowledge and vocation by career choice , with more than 10 years of experience in the tourism and hotel sector , she was working in hotels, museums, travel agencies in Lima and inside Peru, showing in each of this previous work centers a satisfactory performance. Thanks to her profession and her fascination with travel, she has trip a great part of Peru, which allows her a clear and sharp vision on this business, without neglecting her role as mother and wife.

Born on the seventies, and grew up as a child of a Lima mid class family _ parents from provinces_ ,attend the school where she starts to feel the heart bump for Peruvian history and knowing of places, when coming the time for choose a career, she went for Andean prehistory (archaeology). Once she got graduated, and while doing the teaching assistance in University, she was invited to leave Lima definitely for becoming tour guide in Peru’s steepest cloud forest region. She obtained a formal training as tour guide thanks which she´s enabled to guide all over Peru.
There in the North she got a very scarce spare time to keep doing the research, notably taking part in archaeological projects as Kuelap Master Plan and writing an article recreating north ancient Peruvians mummification process for South American Explorers.
In Machete Tours, she does the guiding and conduction of the tours in Lima, the coast & North. Design & creates trip programs and new products. Escort guests coming to Lima.

Ana Maria was born on July 11 in 1985 in the city of Cusco. In 2002 conducted studies of marketing for tourism services and the professional career of Tourism Official Guide beginning to work in different companies in tourist agencies, gaining much experience and responsibility in various industrial fields so as to provide a quality service to passengers. She is currently working on Machete Tours company who has served as the Area of Operations reserves and is responsible for organizing special tours of the jungle (4 days manu manu & 6 days) trekking traditional (Inca Trail 4 days & Inca trail of 2 days) trek alternative (Salkantay-MAPI 5dias, school-mapi4dias, Ausangate and others) At a young age do the Inca Trail 4 days to enjoy this trip and impetus to continue to provide the best service to all passengers. Yannett was born in Coya (Sacred Valley) on January 14, 1984, primary education course at the College of Clorinda Matto Turner of Cusco and secondary education in college Private San Martin de Porres in the same City. Since I was a Chidl always loved everything related to environmental tourism. She studied Guide at the Institute KHIPU and at the same time as English language study in the ICPNA, belongs to the Association of Tourist Guides, and every year carries out the course for authorization to Inca Trail.
She has had personal contact with the communities in the Sacred Valley and its people throughout his life. She is very curious, likes to investigate new things also has a very good sense of humor and open-minded and as an athlete she is, likes adventure travel. She is working in different agencies gain experience on managing traditional tours in Cusco, she also made the trek on Inca Trail for 4 days, Salkantay, choquequirao, raffting,rapelling,knows everything that includes tourist attractions in the city of Cusco also knows what it involves Tipon, Pikillaqta, Andahuayliyas, Huara, Raqchi, La Raya, with this broad cultural knowledge, preservation and conservation. I was born on August 16 in 1983 in the city of Lima. I grew up in the district of Chorrillos with my parents and my brother and for this reason I like the sea . They’re engineers and I’ve studied Tourism and Hostelling at San Martin de Porres University . I speak two lenguages , english and Italian , I love to know about other cultures and for this I ‘ll continue to learn more lenguages. I was working in others travel agencies , I like this kind of job because it’s creative , dynamic and you can meet a lot of people of different parts of the world. I’ve did some trips around Perú , for example : Ica , Ayacucho , Huaraz , Huancayo and La Merced . When I was in those places , I remember that I loved doing the tours , seeing the landscapes and the beautiful views , talking with many persons , knowing their costumes and their styles of life. They were great experiencies. In the future, I’ll like to know more places in Perú , because I’m a touristic professional and I need to know all the tourist attractions required for the foreign tourists.
