TREKKING IN THE COLCA CANYON - 2 DAYS

FIRST DAY:
Pick up of passengers from their respective hostels at the
time decided by the guide, in our private transport which will take us to
Cabanaconde, where we will have breakfast, befote heading to Pampa San Miguel,
from where we will begin our walk.
Alter 3 and a half hours of walking we will arrive at the first community of San Juan de Chuccho (2200m), descending aproximately 1357 m to the level of the river Colca. We will explore the surroundings and may have lunch here. It is also posible to carry on walking an hour and a half more to the next community of Cosñirhua (2450m) ti have lunch. We will have a short break, and then continue walking until we reach Sangalle, also known as the oasis (1230m) where we will enjoy some free time and will bath in a fresh pool of 24ºC. We can go for a walk in the surrounding area, here we will have our pleasant evening meal and spend the night in bamboo bungalows.
SECOND DAY:
We will get up at 5 am to tara the uphill walk
to the town of Cabanaconde (approx. 3 hours).we will have breakfast in Cabanaconde,
and the travel to the Cruz del Condor (approx 45 mins), where we will enjoy
watching the awe inspiring condors fly and also apréciate the depth
of the Canyon. We will stay here for an tour. We will then make our way to
Chivay, the most important town in the length of the Valley.
Afterwards, we will take our private car to the medicinal thermal baths of La Calera; at 35ºC we will be able to enjoy the water´s soothing properties. After a while we will return to Chivay. We will have lunch at a time previously organised with the group, and then go back to the City of Arequipa where we will arrive at 16:30 pm. And so we end our fascinating adventure.
