"We believe that love and understanding for nature
comes through living amidst it."
About Machete Tours
Machete Tours is an Travel agency who understand and love nature that is why our
primary objective is the conservation and preservation of ecologies of
the planet. Through the tours we hope to extend the growing awareness
of the importance of our Amazonian rainforest and how important it is
for life in earth, We educate the visitor about the varieties of flora
and fauna and their interrelations and symbiotic dependencies. At Machete Tours our personnel are highly aware of our purpose, a strict principle
of not interfering or tampering with any of the animals or their habitats
but to respect their space as they respect ours.
The Director and Manager of Machete Tour has founded this agency with
a clear objective which is to teach people from all around the world the
importance of eco-tourism and the preservation of wild life as well as
knowledge about the people who live in the jungle. He also has many years
of experience and has worked in several areas of the South American amazon
as a rainforest tour guide. Machete Tours have professional bilingual
guides (including the manager), local guides working as tour assistants
who also participate in the expeditions, professional cooks and very experienced
boat and bus drivers.
The
tours are extremely flexible according to what the client wishes to get
out of his/her trip. They range regular between 4 to 8 days in length,
but it can be extended to more days. Our transport service consists of
a private overland bus which takes us through the Sacred Valley, over
the Andes and into the Elfinwood, Cloud and Rain Forests. We travel by
comfortable motorised boat along the Alto Madre de Dios and the Madre
de Dios Rivers ( cultural zone and Amarakari reserve) and an optional
return flight to Cusco is offered.
As safety is of the utmost importance to us, the transport offered is
the sole property of the company and thus there are no unnecessary dangers
or delays. We are unfaltering in the safety measures we take and are welcomly
unaccustomed to encountering emergencies, though in any such case, all
services are on constant stand-by. Specialised and professionally run
survival courses are also offered to assure the client's well-being and
general peace of mind.
The
areas we cover are diverse and stretch between the Cultural zone of the
National reserve to the new Amarakari Reserve which lies just below the
Cultural Zone.
The Cultural zone is inhabited by two native communities, the Shimtuya
and Diamante, yet contrary to common and unfounded beliefs concerning
the relationship between land and native, the area remains unspoilt due
to government control over the reserves of both communities. Though self-sufficient,
relying solely on the reserves of their immediate habitats, the two native
communities are frugal with what they use of the resources, never exceeding
their quota so as to preserve their respective regions from harm.
MACHETE TOURS WELCOMES YOU TO PERU AND INVITES YOU
