Peru: PromPeru launches travel photography online contest

(07/21/2010)Promperu, the state agency in charge of promoting tourism, is organizing for the second year in a row the photography contest “Turismo Peru,” that seeks to promote domestic tourism locations during Fiestas Patrias (the celebrations for the Peruvian Independence anniversary).
This time the contest will be done via Facebook, using the application “Concurso de Fotos Turismo Perú,” which will allow to upload photos and to comment on the ones posted by other Facebook users.
The deadline for submitting photos is July 31, but Facebook users will be able to comment and vote until August 8.
Prizes for the winners include tourism packages to Cajamarca, Ayacucho and Arequipa, while the best comments will participate in a raffle of trips to Cusco.
