(09/17/2010)A team of Peruvian archaeologists have uncovered an impressive ancient complex from the time of the Chachapoyas culture, with circular houses and huge walls.

This archaeological complex is located in San Juan de Lopecancha, located in the province of Luya, in Amazonas region, according to the researcher Martín Chumbe.
He said that this complex covers an area of more than two hectares, with more than 50 circular houses in good conditions, despite their location in the middle of the jungle.
The Chachapoyas civilization, that developed in the current region of Amazonas during the sixth century, has left a significant number of monuments such as Kuélap, the Gran Pajatén, the Lagoon of the Cóndores, as well as many tombs in places difficult to reach.
