Hilton Hotels to enter Peru with a new hotel in Lima

(09/20/2010)According to a press release, Hilton Worldwide has entered into a Franchise Agreement with J.G.J. Proyectistas to introduce the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to the Peruvian market in 2012.

Hilton plans to open a 230-room new Hilton in the upperscale Lima district of Miraflores, an area known for its shopping areas, gardens, flower-filled parks, beaches and fine dining.

“With a population exceeding nine million people, Lima is a major market for international travel and key to our strong presence in South America,” said Dave Horton, global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

The new hotel is already under construction, near to the MiraCorp Business Corporate Center, and will also provide a great base for events and business travelers, with ten meeting rooms, a business center and a grand ballroom for 450 people.

The Hilton brand currently includes more than 530 hotels and resorts in 76 countries
