Peru's Amazon river leads its category in New 7 Wonders contest

(09/22/2010)The Amazon river and rain forest leads the group of the top fourteen candidates to recognized as one of the seven natural wonders of the world, in the contest organized by The New 7 Wonders Foundation, reports Tnews.
According to the latest ranking, this river shares the voters' preferences along with the Salto del Angel and Iguazú falls, the Dead Sea, Galapagos and Maldivas islands, and the Grand Canyon, among other natural attractions.
The Amazon percentage of online voting has a high growing rate, reports Andina news agency.
