(09/27/2010)Flights between Lima and Cusco are back to normal, after the protests that hit the Andean city during the lasts days and led to the temporarily closure of the Velasco Astete airport.
Airlines resumed operations and continue serving their Cusco routes normally today.

The street protests in Cusco reached the airport last Friday, so it was closed and several flights served by Lan Peru were canceled, preventing tourists from Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Brasil from visiting Machu Picchu.
The Velasco Astete airport had to be closed because protesters had brought down a wall located 200m away from the landing strip.
Cusco joined this strike, that was started by Espinar province residents, as a protest for the concession of the project Majes-Siguas II.
