(11/23/2010)The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Eduardo Ferreyros, announced Peru will push to conclude negotiations in the WTO Doha Round in 2011, reported Andina.

Peru is an active participant of this international organism.
The Doha Round negotiations began in 2000 and it has reached its ninth year, becoming the longest one in history.
The last impasse was in July 2008 when the ministers gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, didn’t reach an agreement in the areas of agriculture and non agricultural access market.
Last year, however, G-20 leaders expressed their commitment to conclude the round with the support of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).
“The closure of the negotiations is difficult since all the 153 members have to reach an agreement. We will strongly push in this matter,” said minister Ferreyros.
